Need information about the Christian faith?
All the major religions of the world share a common theme: Man must do something to earn favor in order to be saved. Christianity is totally different because it follows God’s real plan: God himself acts to save people. God the Father has set a particular course of action to accomplish his purposes: sending Jesus, the Lamb of God, to take away the sin of the world. As Jesus himself says, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me,” (John 14:6).
Seeking hope?
No matter what troubles may come into your life, Jesus promises that God cares about you very deeply. Even in the midst of difficulties or even death, Jesus promises that he has paved the way for us to live eternally with Him and God the Father. He told his disciples: “Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be where I am,” (John 14:1b-3).
Think you can’t get beyond your past?
Sometimes our past can enslave us and strip us of our worth and dignity. But our Lord Jesus Christ restored our humanity and dignity by taking all our sin and shame upon himself on the cross and freeing us. “So from now one, we consider no one from a worldly point of view … Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 16a, 17).
Convinced God doesn’t care about you?
When bad things happen in our lives, we can think God doesn’t care about us or perhaps even think that God doesn’t exist. But God has acted to bring peace and joy to our lives. After all, “He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:32)
Overwhelmed by guilt?
Some people think that they can never be forgiven for things that they have done in their past. But God is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. In Christ Jesus, God offers us forgiveness. The Bible tells us: “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness,” (1 John 1:8-9).
Want to grow in your relationship with God?
The best way to grow in your relationship with God is to hear God’s word preached in worship and taught in Bible Study. This same word “is the power of salvation to all who believe,” (Romans 1:16). As the Spirit calls you to faith and reveals what God has done in Christ Jesus, the next step would be baptism. Why? Because all of those who are baptized into Christ have clothed themselves with Christ (Galatians 3:27). In baptism, we become intimately connected to Jesus.
Think you are not good enough for church, or worried that people will judge you?
Every single person has fallen short of God’s expectations and deserves punishment. No one is perfect, and we don’t expect you to be that way. We come to church so that we might receive forgiveness ourselves for all the things we have done wrong! But we don’t wallow in pity; instead we celebrate that God declares us innocent because Christ Jesus paid the price for our sin -- not because we deserved it -- but as a free gift.
